Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday met Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to discuss the strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Ms. Dikshit met Mr. Gandhi past noon. Party sources said the meeting assumes significance as the Congress is preparing the list of candidates for the elections.

While the reports of the observers are still awaited, the process of shortlisting of the candidates is on. The party is not only braving anti-incumbency this time, as it has been in power in Delhi for a record 15 years now, but it is also having to put up with the changing dynamics in view of the entry of the Aam Aadmi Party in the race, and the recent anointment by the BJP of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as its Prime Ministerial candidate.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee J. P. Aggarwal was also present during the meeting.
