Water supply at low pressure
NEW DELHI: Due to annual flushing of the Shadipur reservoir, water supply will be available at low pressure in East Patel Nagar, West Patel Nagar, South Patel Nagar, Shadipur and Khampur village for four days beginning this Monday.
Water supply will also be at low pressure in C-8, Sector-18 of Rohini, BB (W) Block of Shalimar Bagh and Motia Khan DDA flats due to annual flushing of overhead tank, underground tank and booster pumping station this coming Tuesday.
Similarly water supply will be at low pressure in Sector C-6 of Vasant Kunj and Okhla Industrial Area-I/II this coming Tuesday.
IGNOU course in cardiology
NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has invited applications for admission to its two-year post-graduate diploma course in Community Cardiology in collaboration with leading heart hospitals of the country.
The programme has been offered to Indian MBBS graduates. Prospectus-cum-admission forms can be obtained from the Regional Centres of IGNOU in the respective State capitals or Public Information Unit on payment of Rs.100 or through post by sending an IPO/demand draft for Rs.150.
NEW DELHI: IIT Roorkee Alumni Association, National Capital Region Chapter, will organise a global meet, "Vision 2020-Nation Building", at Ashok Hotel here on Sunday.
Over 1,000 alumni from across the world are expected to participate in the meeting. Union Minister of State for Personal and Training Suresh Pachouri will be the chief guest.
Odissi dance recital
NEW DELHI: Alpana, a non-government organisation engaged in promotion of performing arts, presented an Odissi dance recital by Alpana Nayak at India International Centre here on Saturday.
Delhi Lieutenant-Governor B.L. Joshi was the chief guest on the occasion.
Children greet Sheila
NEW DELHI: On New Year's Eve, Help Care Society organised a function at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. Children greeted Ms. Dikshit with flowers.
Woollens, blankets and essential commodities were distributed among the children and the needy by the Society, a non-government organisation that works for the cause and care of the girl child.
NEW DELHI: A weeklong drive to nab ticket-less travellers at railway stations and in running trains was carried out by Northern Railway in December. During the drive, 889 cases of irregularity were detected and Rs. 24,7025 recovered as penalty.
Northern Railway has appealed to the public not to travel on transferred tickets. Impersonation is an offence liable for penalty and prosecution.
