Water supply to be affected
NEW DELHI: The Delhi Jal Board has announced that water supply will be affected on Thursday evening and Friday morning in Mayur Vihar Phase I and II, Kalyanpuri, Trilokpuri, Mandawali Society, South Ganesh Nagar, Railway Colony Mandawali, Patparganj, Indraprastha Extension and adjoining areas due to repair work at Jal Vihar mains on Vikas Marg.
Power supply cut
NEW DELHI: Power distribution company BSES has announced that power supply will be affected in Defence Colony and adjoining areas in the Capital on Thursday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on account of planned upgrading and strengthening of the distribution system.
NEW DELHI: Alexander V. Fyodorov, Deputy Head of the Directorate of Asia and Africa at the Russian Centre of International Scientific and Cultural Cooperation in Moscow, formally presented Russian language teaching material to representatives of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University and Jamia Millia Islamia at a function here on Tuesday.
The function was organised in coordination with the Indian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature.
Symposium on AIDS
NEW DELHI: Northern Railway Central Hospital organised an all-India railways symposium on "HIV/AIDS Awareness Innovative Methods" at National Rail Museum here over the weekend.
Minister of State for Railways R. Velu was the chief guest at the symposium that was attended by over 200 medical and non-medical delegates from India Railways. Northern Railway Central Hospital has been undertaking pro-active measures to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS.
NEW DELHI: The Delhi Union of Journalists will organise a poetry-cum-musical evening here on Friday as part of Holi celebrations.
The evening will celebrate the pluralistic nature of India. The participants include Sudip Banerjee, Ashok Bajpai, Naresh Nadeem, Obaid Siddiqui, Ibbar Rabbi and Madan Gopal Singh among others. The venue will be the DUJ amphitheatre at Shankar Market in Connaught Place.
