DU convocation tomorrow
NEW DELHI: The 84th annual Convocation of Delhi University for conferring degrees on successful candidates of the 2006 examinations will be held this Saturday in the Convention Hall of Old Vice Regal Lodge on the campus.
Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia will be the chief guest on the occasion.

NEW DELHI: Nearly 30,000 people visited the three-day 20th Garden Tourism Festival that ended at Said-ul-Ajaib in South Delhi on Wednesday.
During the festival, organised by Delhi Tourism, several competitions were also organised. In the cut flower section, the first prize was won by Chirag Nursery. In the vegetable section the award was given to Ashok Munjal of Sun Beam.
The theme of the festival this year was "Topiary in Garden designing". The Haryana Urban Development Authority won the first prize in the "theme garden'' category.
NEW DELHI: Manoj Parida, Managing Director of the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, visited the Narela Industrial Estate earlier this week. Accompanied by senior officers and engineers, he went round the estate that has been constructed by the Corporation.
He was felicitated by the Entrepreneurs' Association of Narela Industrial Estate.
NEW DELHI: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi released an "Abhinandan Granth'' in honour of poet and freedom fighter Shamsher Singh "Sher'' here on Wednesday.
Mr. Dasmunsi said Mr. Singh had played a significant role in the freedom struggle and translated the "Zafar Nama" of Guru Gobind Singh from Persian to Punjabi.
