A live bomb was found inside a pressure cooker in the Sonepur fair on Sunday, triggering panic.

The bomb, tucked into the pressure cooker, was lying at a lonely place behind a stall and was defused by the bomb disposal squad, Station House Officer (SHO) Sonepur Om Prakash said.

Though there was report of Naxalite involvement in the incident, the SHO rejected it.

Following the incident, security has been tightened in the fair.

Sonepur fair, Asia’s biggest cattle fair, started on November 27 and will end on December 26.
