With the arrest of a 22-year-old man, the police claim to have solved the blind murder case of a person who was stabbed to death two days ago in Samaipur Badli.
The incident took place on Wednesday while the victim Kishan Kumar, accompanied by three others, was on his way to a market in Samaipur Badli. As the rickshaw they were travelling in reached near Samaipur Chowk on Bawana Road, it had a collision with a motorcycle in which four persons were riding.
This resulted in an argument between Kishan’s associates and the motorcyclists who demanded a compensation for the damages caused to their vehicle. However, following intervention by nearby shopkeepers and other passers-by, they managed to placate the angry boys who left, said the police.
Later, when Kishan and his associates moved a little further, they were again confronted by the same boys who started beating them up. One of the boys stabbed Kishan Kumar who sustained stab injury on the left side of rib cage. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The attackers drove away after the incident.
“As there was no clue about the identity of accused and motive of crime, efforts were made to gather local intelligence. Police teams were deployed to search a blue motorcycle with a broken front mud guard,” said a senior police official.
Further investigations helped police zero in on a person named Banger who was using a motorcycle whose description matched the one police were looking for. Banger was subsequently arrested.
On interrogation the accused purportedly admitted to his crime. Banger’s associates are still at large and police are trying to arrest them.
