As part of its mass contact programme ‘Ghar-Ghar BJP’ in view of the upcoming Assembly elections, party workers of the principal Opposition party in Delhi will begin knocking on the doors of the electorate from Thursday.

The door-to-door campaign that will continue till October 21 in all the 70 Assembly segments will focus on offering solutions to problems faced by people due to the 15-year “misrule” of the Congress in Delhi.

The BJP workers will also harp on their prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s “vision” for nation building and this aspect will feature in the information disseminated by the cadres.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel said the initiative was part of the BJP’s philosophy of going “back to the basics”. The party sees this as establishing effective communication and strengthening the emotional bond with families, he added.

The party has formed 11,763 polling booth level crack teams for the elections and each of these will comprise 32 members. “A team comprising three members from these crack-level teams led by one senior party cadre and assisted by two others will connect with masses through the personal contact programme. Each team will visit 20 homes, meet the family members and share with them the party’s vision about Delhi,” said Mr. Goel.

Each team will be given a feedback form to be filled after discussions with the families in order to know issues crucial for them in their respective constituencies, he added. The teams will also enlist the advice from every household for the BJP’s manifesto for Delhi polls.

The Delhi BJP president said he will also participate in the campaign by visiting homes and personally meeting families at Majnu Ka Tila during this period.
