In the wake of the findings of the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, which he claimed has exposed the incompetence and “corrupt malpractices’’ of the Delhi Government, State Bharatiya Janata Party president Vijay Goel on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on moral grounds .

Claiming that CAG was unable to find a single facet of life which remained unaffected by incompetent and corrupt malpractices of the Delhi Government, Mr. Goel said the auditor has not just pointed towards corruption but has also blamed it for lack of vision.

He said as the report has pointed out that the Government could provide houses to only a handful of people under the Rajiv Ratan Awas Yojana, for which nearly 4 lakh applicants had registered, a protest by the applicants would be organised outside the residence of the Chief Minister on April 5.

Likewise, Mr. Goel said to bring before the Residents Welfare Associations the misdeeds of the Delhi Government a meeting of “Bhagidari RWAs’’ would be organised at Talkatora Stadium on April 20.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly V.K. Malhotra said the CAG report has exposed the rampant corruption in every department of the Delhi Government and also sought Ms. Dikshit’s resignation.Prof. Malhotra said that it was also pertinent to note that such an important report was deliberately tabled in the Delhi Assembly in the last hour of the Budget Session so that no discussion could take place on it in the House.

“All the charges which we used to level against the Government have been proved right in this report,’’ he said.
