Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee on Sunday unanimously passed a resolution authorising All India Congress Committee chief Sonia Gandhi to nominate the next State unit president.

Incumbent BPCC president Chaudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser introduced the resolution, which was passed unanimously by the party delegates at a meeting held at the party headquarters, its media coordinator said.

Bihar Congress Legislative Party leader Sadanand Singh and his counterpart in the Legislative Council, Chandan Bagchi, about 586 newly-appointed delegates and district unit presidents raised their hands to support the resolution, he said.

The Central in-charge of Bihar Congress, Gurchain Singh Charak, and BPCC election authority chairman B. D. Kalla attended the meeting of the delegates.

Mr. Charak asked party workers to sink their differences and work together to ensure Congress' revival as a strong political outfit in Bihar. “It is time party leaders and workers in Bihar sink their differences and work together to revive the party's fortunes.” - PTI
