NEW DELHI: With the promised supply of water to Harkesh Nagar, Okhla Phase I and Phase II in his constituency still not taking place despite the Sonia Vihar water treatment plant having become operational, the MLA from Badarpur, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, on Wednesday threatened to launch an agitation in front of the Chief Minister's office from September 5 if the supply is not started.

Meets Sheila

Mr. Bidhuri met Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Delhi Jal Board Chief Executive Officer Arun Mathur during the day and apprised them of the water crisis in these areas. The Delhi Pradesh NCP leader and Jal Board member, Mr Bidhuri said the supply of water to these areas had not started despite lines having been laid and reservoirs constructed."Even the Supreme Court had directed the Delhi Jal Board to provide drinking water supply to these areas but nothing has been done to implement the court orders and put an end to the acute shortage of drinking water there," he said, adding that despite all the assurances he had received upon meeting senior officials, there was still no trace of water.
