The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday urged President Pranab Mukherjee to revise his scheduled visit to Bihar on October 26-27 as it coincides with its ‘Hunkar Rally’ on October 27.

“Politics at play”

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushil Kumar Modi alleged that there was politics at play in the finalisation of the schedule of the Presidential visit to coincide with Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s rally.

Mr. Sushil Kumar Modi alleged that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar did not inform the President’s office intentionally about the rally as a “conspiracy” to sabotage it, even though the BJP had announced its programme in March.

During the President’s visit, a tight security blanket will be thrown over the State, causing inconvenience to those wanting to attend Mr. Narendra Modi’s rally, he told journalists.

Also, no plane can land at the Patna airport as long as the special aircraft carrying Mr. Mukherjee does not fly out and under the circumstances, the aircraft carrying Mr. Narendra Modi will not land at the airport that day. — PTI
