The Bhakra Beas Management Board on Tuesday claimed to have added 310 MW of additional capacity by renovating, modernising and updating its existing hydro-power generating facilities. This accounts for about 60 per cent of the total capacity added throughout the country where such augmentation exercise was undertaken.

An official release quoting Board Chairman A. B. Agrawal said another 90 MW would be added soon. He was addressing the 14th governing body meeting of “Power HR Forum” that was attended by top executives from various public sector undertaking including NTPC, NHPC, POWERGRID, NPCIL, SJVN, THDC and NEEPCO.

At the Forum's session on “Serving Indian power sector through excellence in HR”, Mr. Agrawal highlighted the modern operational practices adopted by the Board in irrigation and power.
