Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that farmers should be given the right to sell their produce in the country and abroad where they find fair prices for their agriculture produce.

“Imposing a ban on export of farm produce is not proper,” the Chief Minister said while addressing the inaugural function of the three-day International Horti Expo-2013 here over the weekend.

Mr. Chauhan said nothing can be better for livelihood than agriculture and exhorted farmers to change the agriculture scenario to create new history.

He said that side by side with traditional farming, farmers should also start cultivating horticulture crops, fruits and flowers.

At the programme, 47 companies signed MoUs with farmers in the presence of Mr. Chauhan who released books pertaining to horticulture published by CII. The Chief Minister also inspected an exhibition put up at the expo. - PTI
