NEW DELHI: A month-long winter internship programme organised by the National Human Rights Commission here to sensitise students on human rights concluded on Friday.

Addressing participants, who are mostly post-graduate level students of law, political science, social work, criminology and human rights, NHRC Acting Chairperson Justice G. P. Mathur asked them to act as ambassadors for protection and promotion of human rights and take appropriate steps to ensure justice for those whose human rights were violated. Fifty-five interns from different institutions and universities in 20 States and Union Territories attended the programme which began on December 17. They included one Indonesian and two Afghan nationals studying in India.
