National Theatre Arts Society, Patiala, organised “Munshi Prem Chand Theatre Festival” to mark the 133rd birth anniversary of the great writer at Baradari Gardens here this week.
Two plays — Prem Chand’s patriotic story-based Dunia Ka Sab Se Anmol Rattan , adapted by Chitra Modgil and directed by Rajesh Sharma of Natakwala, and NTAS’ Theatre Workshop product Sabz Baagh , a powerful Punjabi social satire written by Jatinder Brar, directed by Dharminder Sandhu and produced by Sunita Sabharwal — were staged amid much applause from the audience.
