NEW DELHI: The leader of the House in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Subhash Arya, on Saturday said the civic body would open one English medium primary school in each of its 272 wards.

Mr. Arya said a number of middle and lower middle class parents were finding it difficult to give education to their children in public schools due to enhanced fees. “The MCD will fulfil its obligation to provide an alternative system of good education and also provide free mid-day meal, uniform and textbooks for children.”
