IGNOU to develop three programmes

NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Ministry of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding to develop education programmes in the area of agricultural export and import.

Under the MoU, signed in the presence of IGNOU Vice-Chancellor S.C. Garg, and APEDA Chairman K.S. Mooney, the university will develop three educational programmes to be offered through distance mode with technical and financial support from APEDA.

Discourses on occult sciences

NEW DELHI: Delhi Speaker Prem Singh on Sunday said the spiritual heritage of India has been a source of inspiration to the rest of the world and this is why the world is looking towards India and regards it as a "Vishwa Guru''. He was speaking at the inauguration of discourses on occult sciences at Tilak Marg here.

Declaring that India has a priceless spiritual and cultural heritage, which along with its scientific and philosophic traditions, needs to be treasures, the Speaker said there si a need to create awareness among masses to adopt the ancient therapiers told by the Rishis and Yogis to lead a better and stress-free life.

Founder's Day celebrated

NEW DELHI: Vidya, a volunteer-driven, non-profit NGO, celebrated its work and mission during its 22nd Founder's Day held at the IIT Campus here on Saturday.

For over 20 years, the organisation has been working at the grassroots level, educating and empowering women and children living in the slum communities of Delhi, Mumbai and Goa. Since its inception, around 10,000 children and more than 20,000 women have benefited from the programmes dedicated to educating and empowering the underprivileged and bringing about progressive social change.

Social activist Chairperson of Children's Film Society Nafisa Ali was the chief guest at the programme, which was attended by a number of corporates, educationists, students and parents.

Blood donation

NEW DELHI: Noida Telugu Welfare Association organised a blood donation camp at the guesthouse of Montage Enterprises in Sector 57 Noida on Sunday. The camp was organised by advisor to the Association Madhusudhana Rao in association with Metro Hospital.
