NEW DELHI: Five officers of the Directorate of Home Guards and Civil Defence have been awarded meritorious and distinguished service medals on the eve of Independence Day. The awards are in recognition of their commendable service rendered in Delhi.

Medals for distinguished service have been conferred on Home Guards Delhi Station Officer (Headquarters) Sant Kumar Tanwar; Divisional Warden Civil Defence (South-West District) Manohar Lal Gupta, and Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence (North-East District) Arvind Kumar Jain.

Central Training Institute Administrative Officer Mahender Singh Singhal and Pipe Band Man (Headquarter) Tej Bahadur Lama have been awarded meritorious service medals.
