NEW DELHI: The 60th annual Nirankari Sant Samagam will be held here in the Capital from this Saturday.
Announcing this on Thursday, Samagam Committee convenor K. R. Chadha said the Head of the Mission, Baba Hardev Singh Maharaj, will inaugurate the three-day Samagam. He will start the open session with a brief “Message to Mankind”. Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra will welcome him, while Lieutenant-Governor Tejendra Khanna will formally inaugurate the Samagam.
On Friday, a number of Nirankari Sewa Dal volunteers will present a programme featuring physical exercises and a number of cultural items based on the Mission’s philosophy. A number of volunteers from abroad will also participate.
During the Samagam, an exhibition consisting of models, paintings and photographs will be a centre of attraction for the devotees.
Through colourful paintings, rare photographs and models, the exhibition will depict the ideology, history and social welfare of the Mission.
While children from Ludhiana will stage a play titled “Chak De: The Goal of Universal Brotherhood”, over 20 poets will participate in a multi-lingual symposium.
“The biggest message of the Samagam to the world is unity in diversity,” said Mr. Chadha.
