NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has dismissed a revision petition by former New Delhi Municipal Council Chairperson P. M. Singh against a judgment by a special court for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cases here dismissing her petition seeking quashing of a corruption case against her for allegedly regularising an illegal hotel building.

Dismissing the revision petition, Justice Ravindra Bhatt said: “I find no infirmity or illegality in the special court judgment. The petition is dismissed.”

The CBI’s allegations against Ms. Singh are that she had entered into a criminal conspiracy with the owner of a private hotel on Kasturba Gandhi Marg in New Delhi and had extended an illegal benefit to him against pecuniary gratification. She thereby caused pecuniary loss to the exchequer, the investigating agency added.

The CBI charge-sheeted Ms. Singh, two architects, an Assistant Engineer of the Council and the owner of the hotel and his wife, for criminal conspiracy, cheating and corruption last year. The investigating agency registered the case in 2003.

The CBI alleged that the piece of land was originally given on perpetual lease to a barrister.
