NEW DELHI: P.K. Abdul Azis has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

President approves

The President, in his capacity as Visitor, has approved the appointment for five years with effect from the date he assumes charge.

The post fell vacant following the resignation of Naseem Ahmad on April 7.

Prof. Azis, D.Sc in Ecology, has been serving as Vice-Chancellor of the Cochin University of Science and Technology since 2004.

He has published 77 research papers.
