New Delhi: Renowned dancers' duo Nalini-Kamaini kept the audience spellbound with their Kathak recital at a Pravasi Sangathan function in Delhi on Thursday.

Organised to celebrate International Women's Day, the function had a dance performance by the duo who through their movements displayed the various facets of a woman's life.

A seminar on "Role of women in nation building'' was also organised on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, senior BJP leader Neera Shashtri said: "Women are the centre point of the society and national development. The progress and prosperity of a nation is better judged by the status of the women of the country. Women have to be conscious of their inherent capabilities. It is only then that they can join the mainstream of the country's development and prove their mettle.''

Delhi Municipal Councillor Bhawna Gaur said women today are not shy and know their rights. They are tackling challenges in all spheres and proving their worth.

Pravasi Sangathan general secretary Arvind Tiwari said people should work together to help the social, spiritual, political, economic and moral development of women in society.
