NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Friday issued notice to Vikas and Vishal Yadav, accused in the Nitish Katara murder case, on a petition filed by prosecution seeking permission to make a Ghaziabad-based lawyer a witness in the case.

Justice B N Chaturvedi issued notice to both the accused, presently lodged in Tihar jail, through the jail superintendent and asked them to file their reply by February 27. In the petition, the prosecution challenged the trial court order dismissing their plea to make advocate Satya Pal Singh Yadav as a witness at this stage. According the police, the testimony of Yadav was relavant as the body of Katara was recovered and some of his articles were seized in his presence.

Meanwhile, the court of Justice A K Sikri posted to February 23 another petition filed by Bharti Yadav, a key witness and sister of Vikas, seeking a direction to quash the proceedings against her father D P Yadav and uncle Bharat Singh prior to her deposition.
