NEW DELHI: Wire and Wireless India Limited (WWIL), a Zee Group enterprise, has launched its broadband services in the Capital under the brand name SITI Broadband, promising a higher bandwidth for faster surfing and other Internet applications.

Announcing this, WWIL CEO Deepak Chandnani said on Monday, “Our services that are based on latest technology and cater to a varied segment of users would provide true broadband Internet experience. We are also looking at launching Wi-Fi wireless technology in shopping malls, housing societies and the corporate sector.”

Stating that WWIL has also launched broadband services in Mumbai and plans to cover other metros and mini-metros soon, Mr. Chandnani said: “Our offers include a variety of packages for simple browsing purposes at home which are both economical and affordable to our customers. We have also introduced many innovative features to suit the varied demands and expectations of our customers. We aim to be a national player with a bundle of offers.” “Broadband penetration in India is low and limited primarily to the corporate segment with services like income tax returns, passport application, travel booking, cinema ticket booking, music and games available on Internet. We expect to increase our penetration of broadband among individuals and also in business segment. Our aim is to enter large but untapped market like households, small and medium enterprises (SME) and small offices and home offices (SOHO) segment,” he added.
