Sony Entertainment Television brings a fortnight-long classic film festival from Monday

NEW DELHI: To bring the best of yesteryears’ celluloid for its viewers, Sony Entertainment Television is presenting a fortnight-long classic film festival beginning this coming Monday.

Besides rekindling the passion for classics, the channel also intends to celebrate the glorious moments of Indian cinema. “Jubilee Hits” re-visits the past with evergreen classics.

As a part of its repertoire, “Jubilee Hits” will showcase top entertainers of yesteryears with films like “Mughal-e-Azam” that will never go out of style as the magic of Madhubala, Dilip Kumar and Prithviraj Kapoor remains untouched by time and “Dharam Veer”, a heartening tale of twin brothers separated at birth who become best friends when they are older. Then it will air “Yadoon Ki Baarat”, a story of siblings separated by fate that was one of the most remembered film of the 1970s. Also going on air will be “Hum Kisi Se Kum Naheen”, “Daag” and “Dostana”.

The old movies have the perfect mix of sensitivity, drama and entertainment. Apart from these, the channel will also air films of Amitabh Bachchan. These films are aimed at giving Big B’s teeming fans a chance to get up close and personal with the superstar. Movies like “Deewar”, “Suhaag” and “Khoon Pasina” will be beamed on the channel.
