NEW DELHI: A Delhi Police sub-inspector has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch for allegedly seeking a bribe from a Blueline bus driver and helper to let them off on bail in a molestation case.

The driver and helper had been booked under Section 354 (assault to outrage the modesty of a woman) and Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) based on a complaint by some woman students of Satyawati College on Monday. The two were arrested and Sub-Inspector Nand Kishor, posted at Ashok Vihar police station, allegedly demanded Rs.20,000 to release them. The amount was later negotiated to Rs.10,000, but the bus owner reported the matter to the Anti-Corruption Branch.
