NEW DELHI: Several flights at Indira Gandhi International Airport here were delayed on Friday evening because of heavy rain and strong winds.

“Between 4-40 p.m. and 5 p.m., IGI Airport experienced heavy rainfall, cloud cover and strong winds. As a result, five flights had to be diverted to other airports and about 15 were delayed,” said a Delhi International Airport Limited release. The weather improved after 5 p.m. following which normal operations were resumed.
