NEW DELHI: Animal lovers organised a protest at Jantar Mantar here on Friday against the methods used by the Kerala Government to control the stray dog population in the State.

“It is well known that killing does not control stray dog population, only a sustained animal birth control programme helps. Yet over the last two years, the Kerala Government has been pursuing a line of activity that is inhuman,” said Rukmini Sekhar of Citizens for Animals, a group of concerned citizens based in many cities of the country, including Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi.
