The condition of the two persons undergoing treatment at a city hospital for severe respiratory problems and cardiac arrest after administration of anti-rabies vaccine remained “extremely critical,” the doctors said.

The condition of Sunil Sharma, 45, and Chandra Devi, 52, admitted in the ICU of Safdarjung Hospital, is being monitored closely, they said.

“Chandra Devi's condition is very, very critical. She has suffered two cardiac arrests. Sunil too has shown no improvement even three days after he was admitted,” a hospital official said. Both patients had allergic reaction to the drug which caused the cardiac arrest. A committee has been formed to inquire into the matter.
