A 50-year-old Japanese national allegedly committed suicide inside a group housing society complex in DLF Phase-V here on Monday.

Tsutomu Omori, who stayed in a flat in The Icon, was found hanging from the railing of the society's boundary wall around 10 a.m. The body was noticed by a security guard and a call was made to the Police Control Room.

Mr. Omori left behind separate suicide notes in Japanese language addressed to his father, wife and son. “In the notes, Mr. Omori has regretted taking the extreme step,” said a senior police officer.

Mr. Omori, who was managing director of Olympus Medical Systems India Private Limited, had come to India in 2010.

The police said that the Japanese Embassy had been informed of the incident.
