NEW DELHI: Pointing out that India being a largely vegetarian country relied heavily on milk for its nutritional needs, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said adulteration was rampant owing to shortage of milk and the challenge was to make our country a land of plenty.

Speaking at a seminar organised jointly by Indian Dietetic Association and Tetra Pak over the weekend as a precursor to World Milk Day, Ms. Dikshit said milk was like nectar for the human body. “Milk’s relevance is huge in contemporary times when pressures on human bodies are immense,” she added.
