NEW DELHI: He has been regaling Hindustani classical music lovers with mellifluous ghazals for years. And also prodding young talent to make a mark in the vast world of music. He is ghazal maestro Talat Aziz, who performed in the Capital on Saturday to commemorate World Hospice and Palliative Care Day. The ghazal programme was organised by CanSupport.
"Every year in the month of July I organise a ghazal festival titled `Khazana' in Mumbai to provide a platform to budding ghazal singers to carve a niche for themselves. I will soon be giving an opportunity to Generation X settled abroad to sing ghazals," said Aziz.
Aziz keeps travelling overseas every now and then to perform at musical programmes. "For my musical programmes I have been touring the United States. Earlier I was in Canada for various musical projects. India is seasonal in the sense that there are few programmes here," adds the celebrated singer.
