Mentally and physically challenged artistes from 19 countries will participate in a three-day international event of music, dance and painting which begins at India International Centre here this Friday.
An amalgamation of performing arts, seminar and exhibition, “Sambhav 2012” will see resource persons from the host country and the participating nations of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan and Vietnam presenting their papers.
Artistes would not only perform but also get a chance to interact with one another. Since the resource persons from other countries are also working for the uplift of differently-abled and mentally-challenged artistes, the event will see a healthy exchange of ideas.
An international seminar on the theme “Inclusive performing arts, mental health and dance as therapy for challenged persons” will also be held.
Artistes from these countries would perform along with their counterparts from non-government organisation Association for Learning Performing Arts & Normative Action which is hosting the three-day event.
