NEW DELHI: Residents of the Capital have joined hands with a private company, Genpact, for a novel initiative called “Let's do it! Delhi” aimed at cleaning up the city. The campaign was carried out at the Qutub Minar complex and its surrounding areas on Saturday morning.
The campaign is motivated towards cleaning up the city before the Commonwealth Games this October. Clean-up drives have already been organised at Rose Garden and Bhikaji Cama Place as a prelude to the clean-up day in September 2010 – the one day when the initiative hopes to bring together the residents to clean up the city over a single day.
Genpact president and CEO Pramod Bhasin said on Saturday: “As residents of Delhi, it is our responsibility to help keep the city clean and not just find opportunities to shift the blame. We at Genpact believe in leading such initiatives from the front and have also sensitised our employees towards their responsibility to encourage maximum participation and make this initiative a big success.”
