Three persons have been arrested for alleged involvement in several cases of auto-theft and chain-snatching in different parts of the Capital.

Acting on a tip-off, a South Delhi Police team laid a trap in R.K. Puram on July 3 and arrested Sunil (31), Rajinder Kumar (31) and Ikramuddin (23). The police claim to have recovered seven stolen motorcycles. Twenty-one cases of motorcycle theft have allegedly been worked out with the arrest.

Alleged gang leader Sunil, a resident of Shakurpur, was first arrested at Rohini in 2005 in connection with a case of auto-theft. He was later arrested at Punjabi Bagh. Rajinder, a resident of Moti Nagar, is a motorcycle mechanic. He is also involved in several cases of auto-theft, the police said.

Ikramuddin, a resident of Bawana, came in contact with local criminals and took to crime. He is involved in several cases of chain-snatching and auto-theft, the police said.
