PATHANAMTHITTA: Supreme Court judge Cyriac Joseph has called upon the youth to create more opportunities in the field of social service.

Mr. Joseph was inaugurating the valedictory meet of the year-long platinum jubilee celebrations of the Mar Thoma Yuva Jana Sakhyam, youth wing of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church, at Dr. Alexander Mar Thoma Auditorium in Thiruvalla on Saturday.

He said the youth should nourish leadership quality in them in tune with the times so that they could effectively make use of it for the betterment of society as a whole.

Isaac Mar Philexinos, president of the sakhyam, presided over the function.

Joseph Mar Thoma, Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Church, delivered the benedictory speech.

Zacharias Mar Theophilus Suffragan Metropolitan; Fr. Jossie Joseph Mathew, association secretary; Mathew T. Thomas, Transport Minister; P.J. Kurien, Rajya Sabha member; Thomas Chandy, MLA; and Abraham Mar Paulose; addressed the meet.

Earlier, a rally was also held from SCS Junction to the meeting venue.
