Young World painting contest

The 21{+s}{+t}edition of The Hindu-Young World painting contest will be held in Kochi on Saturday and in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode on Sunday.

In Kochi, the venue is Hotel Le Meridien. Nirmala Bhavan Higher Secondary School, Kowdiar, is the venue in Thiruvananthapuram, and Silver Hills Higher Secondary School, Paroppady, in Kozhikode.

The competition will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at all venues. The participants should report at 8 a.m., bringing with them the letter sent from The Hindu inviting them for the contest and the school identity card. Each venue will have nearly 400 contestants.

Students should bring the painting media of their choice. The drawing sheets will be provided by the organisers.

The title sponsor of the painting competition is MIOT International. The associate sponsors are Relief Cough & Cold and Dabur Red Paste.

This year, the contest is being held in 15 cities across South India. The competition, an integral part of the Newspaper in Education (NIE) programme of The Hindu , has, over the years, attracted the best of talent and fostered a spirit of healthy competition among hundreds of schools. The competition is open to students from classes four to seven in the junior category and classes eight to 10 in the senior category.
