Young World painting contest to be conducted in Kochi today

The 20th The Hindu Young World painting competition will be conducted on Saturday at Le Meridien Hotel, Kundanoor, here.

There is no entry fee or entry form.

There are two categories for contestants: juniors from Class IV to VII and seniors from Class VIII to X.

Participants who have been selected for the finals have been sent letters with details of the venue and time. Senior category contestants should bring drawing boards suitable for 46 cm X 32 cm drawing sheet. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and will go on till 8.45 a.m.

The competition will start at 9 a.m.

MIOT Hospitals (CHIME) is the title sponsor for the contest. Amrutanjan Relief Cough and Cold is the national sponsor. Le Meridien Hotel is the hospitality partner.

Apart from the first, second and third prizes in each group, there will be consolation prizes.

The all-India winner from the junior and senior levels will be adjudged from amongst the winning entries of all the 15 centres.

The best three paintings will be selected and engraved in the cover/lid of Amrutanjan product.

Besides Kochi, the competition is being held in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode on Saturday.

Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchi, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, Hubli and New Delhi will conduct the competition on Sunday.
