Writer K. R. Meera’s short story Ekanthathayude Noor Varshangal is being made into a feature film.

The story was part of the 15 works that appeared in the collection titled Yellow is the colour of longing published by Penguin India.

Young director Sudhi Anna is transforming this literary work into a movie and he is in search for a female lead. “I am on the look out for a face that could play the character of Noor, a woman who falls in love with Satyan, a murderer,” the director said.

Ekanthathayude Noor Varshangal , which was published in 2004, was also translated into Tamil .

The director said he was hopeful that the movie would turn into a unique experience for the Malayalam viewers considering the rapidly changing religious, social and cultural scene in the State. “It’s a true love story breaking all barriers and boundaries,” the director said. Sudhi Anna had earlier worked with his friend Rakesh Narayanan in ad and tele films. His movie, which retains the title of the short story, will be made under a new banner.
