A workshop on ‘developing quality standards for herbs and herbal formulations’ has been on at the Centre for Medicinal Plants Research (CMPR), Kottakkal, from Monday.
The five-day workshop will conclude on Friday.
Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala additional chief physician and chief superintendent P.M. Varier inaugurated the workshop, jointly organised by the Arya Vaidya Sala and the Union Department of Ayush. M.P. Eswara Sarma, Principal, Vaidyaratnam P.S. Varier Ayurveda College, Kottakkal, was chief guest.
Indira Balachandran, project director, CMPR, said the workshop was meant to impart training in the area of drug standardisation and quality control of raw materials used in Ayurveda and other systems of medicine.
The workshop would offer classes and hands-on training under the supervision of leading scientists in their respective fields, she said.
