The Kerala State Social Welfare Board conducted a performance assessment workshop at the Vimala College here on Thursday under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005. Addressing the workshop, Prema Cariappa, chairperson of the Central Social Welfare Board and former MP, said that incidents of violence against women were more in North India than in the south. “Women are suffering a lot in our country. This should change,” she added.
