The Department of Management Studies, Kannur University, in association with the Dharmadam grama panchayat organised ‘Kaithangu,’ a two-day workshop for economically backward and unemployed women in the panchayat, on its Palayad campus. The workshop concluded on Wednesday.

The workshop, inaugurated by Dharmadam panchayat president Prabhakaran, included training sessions on mushroom, fish and mussel farming on the first day, apart from distribution of free mushroom seeds to all the 100 participants. M. Ramakrishnan, manager, District Industries Centre, led classes on small-scale industrial ventures at the programme. Training in jewellery designing was imparted to 50 women participants on the second day, according to a press release here.
