Thiruvananthapuram: The city police have registered a case in connection with the death of a 27-year-old woman at Poonthura on Friday night.
According to the police, the woman, Agnes, who had serious health complaints, hanged herself in her house last night. The police, who were alerted, intervened on Saturday morning when relatives were making preparations for burial.
The police intervention came for stiff opposition from the relatives. The Revenue Divisional Officer carried out the inquest and later a post mortem was carried out at the Medical College Hospital. The body was handed over to the relatives later.
According to the police, the woman was married for the last four years. She is survived by her husband, Muthappan, and two children. A case of unnatural death was registered.
