THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government proposes to make permanent arrangements with its main office in the Agriculture Directorate to apprise farmers of weather conditions.

Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran told a meeting here on Wednesday that a training programme would be organised for district agricultural officers and scientists of the agricultural university and central research institutions at the Met Centre on May 25.

Once the machinery was in place, the agricultural officers would be able to keep in touch with the Met Centre, collect the details about weather and pass them on to the farmers.
