The Rs.3.5-crore Mankara water supply scheme that was held up for the last two years was commissioned by District Collector P.M. Ali Asgar Pasha on Friday.

The scheme will provide drinking water to hundreds of families at Mankara grama panchayat which is facing acute drinking water problem. The work was started three years back but was held up due to various reasons.

The inaugural function was presided over by Mankara grama panchayat president M.N. Gokuldas. A report was presented by Kerala Water Authority executive engineer P.S. Aravindakshan.
