Thiruvananthapuram: The city police arrested the watcher of the Corporation slaughterhouse at Kunnukuzhy in connection with an alleged assault on a photographer of the Mathrubhumi daily on Wednesday evening. The photographer, G. Sivaprasad, who went to take photographs of the slaughterhouse following the closure notice was allegedly assaulted by the watcher. In his complaint to the police, the photographer said his camera, bag and purse were snatched by the watcher while returning after taking the photographs of the slaughterhouse around 5.30 p.m. According to the police, the 24-year-old watcher, Aji kumar, a resident of Ponama Nivas, Puthenpalam, Muttathara, was in an inebriated condition. He was arrested and subjected to a medical test.
