10-member delegation gets a glimpse of Kerala culture
Thiruvananthapuram: A Korean youth team arrived in the city on Thursday as part of an Indo-Korean youth exchange programme organised by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan.
The team was given a warm welcome to the accompaniment of Panchavadyam and `thaalappoli.'
NYK national vice-chairman Kodikkunnil Suresh welcomed the 10-member delegation with garlands made of sandalwood and a `ponnaada.'
The team then visited All Saints' College where it was given a glimpse of the culture and tradition of the State.
Cultural programmes, including `Thiruvathirakali' by the students, were organised at the college.
The team later headed for Kovalam, where more of tradition - Kathakali, Mohiniyattom, Kerala Nadanam and Bharatanatyam - awaited them.
The team is headed by Kim Chi Soo of the National Youth Commission of South Korea.
