KOZHIKODE: A fashion event titled `Vrishti-07,' will be held under the aegis of the Centre for Costume and Fashion Designing of the Calicut University at the Tagore Hall here on March 2.

`Vrishti-07,' conceived by the Centre for Costume and Fashion Designing, is expected to be a statement on the current as well as the traditional in dress code and jewellery.

The two-hour fashion show is being organised in a way that gives thrust on colours and designs, checks and stripes with the apt jewellery and accessories, the organisers said at a press conference here on Tuesday.

Joint coordinator Sree Lakshmi; student representatives Nisha, Geethu and Tania, besides Bobby Chemmanur of Chemmanur Jewellers and Praveen of KTC Honda were among those present.

There would be eight rounds and 60 designs. As many as 60 designs would be serenaded in eight rounds.

The different sections have been titled `traditional,' `casual,' `innovation' and `party wear' with two rounds for each section.

This is the third edition of the show being organised by the centre with a view to popularising international and Indian fashion trends in an innovative manner.

Calicut University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Anwar Jahan Zuberi will be the chief guest on the occasion. Mayor M. Bhaskaran will preside over the programme.
