Long-lasting peace can be attained in the society only through the encouragement of practices in which women are respected, according to Additional District Magistrate T.V. Subhash. He was inaugurating the district-level celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at Ambika Vidyabhavan School at Aimcompu in Pala on Saturday.
Noting that Swami Vivekananda was an advocate of women’s empowerment, Mr. Subhash said the ideal growth of the country cannot take place unless women are respected. The society that was envisaged by Swami Vivekananda can be realised only when people of both genders are provided equal rights.
Kadanad gramapanchayat president Jijy Thampi, and school principal M.S. Lalithambika Kunjamma also spoke .
