THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State government has ordered a vigilance inquiry into the cutting of trees on the premises of the office of the Kallada Irrigation Project at Kottarakkara and irregularities regarding contracts awarded by the office. Additional Chief Secretary K. Jayakumar issued the order following a directive from Water Resources Minister N.K. Premachandran, an official release said here on Tuesday. The release said the inquiry would be a comprehensive one covering all allegations regarding award of contracts and other matters. Further cutting of trees and removal of the felled trees had been stayed. — Special Correspondent

‘Voltage adalat’

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) proposes to conduct a ‘voltage adalat’ in October to resolve complaints about voltage fluctuations and disruptions in power supply, which consumers may be facing in various parts of the State. Complaints will be received till September 30 at the KSEB Assistant Engineer’s office covering the power supply functions pertaining to the area concerned, the KSEB said in a release on Tuesday. The adalat will start on October 1 and continue till the end of the month.
